SAMPLES was voted “Product of the Year 2025” in the laboratory software category by the readers of the trade magazine LABO! We are very proud of this and at the same time see it as an incentive: we are consistently pursuing our chosen path of providing our users with the best possible LIMS.
Many thanks to everyone who supported us!

SAMPLES” management system
The most reader votes of all nominated products in the laboratory software category went to the “SAMPLES” management system from Qualitype.
“SAMPLES” is a very flexible LIMS, ELN and LES, a system that effectively simplifies laboratory processes (LIMS: Laboratory Information and Management System; ELN: Electronic Lab Notebook; LES: Lab Execution System). Ready to go with just a few clicks, it connects the user to the desired applications and devices using high-performance, open interfaces. New interface standards, such as LADS or SiLA-2, are used.
The open software architecture, coupled with a wide range of configuration and customization options as well as simple implementation of individual workflows through to complex automation processes, means that it can be used for almost any field of application, according to the provider. Thanks to the optional external workflow engine, the “SAMPLES” system is also well suited for laboratories with high throughput. Aspects of usability and user experience were taken into account in the “SAMPLES” system, e.g. for a familiar “feel” of mobile applications used on a daily basis. The user interfaces can be customized to suit individual needs, and the web application is available on desktop, tablet and mobile devices.
The aim is to create a particularly needs-oriented LIMS that can be easily and quickly adapted to the individual application requirements of the laboratories – ideally simply by the laboratories themselves. In system landscapes with many smaller, well-networked special systems, the “SAMPLES” system can act as a central link. The open, high-performance interfaces for device integration, the connection of external tools and automation as a whole allow users to manage, orchestrate and control their wide range of processes. Artificial intelligence can also be used in the SAMPLES system. For example, the modern interfaces can be used to connect applications with artificial intelligence for pattern recognition and image processing can also be integrated. The prototype integration of an AI chat in the LIMS has also already been realized here in order to expand the user’s interaction options with the system, speed up the retrieval of searched content and increase overall efficiency. The required information can then be retrieved from the LIMS using the AI chat via the interface or actions can be carried out directly via the application, such as the creation of new samples in the LIMS.
Special user interfaces and GPS data acquisition for outdoor use are also available for applications such as environmental sampling and population monitoring. Numerous features make the system adaptable to the respective application and purpose for different industries.
